The Item Sell-Through report puts what you bought next to what you sold. For any date range, you can see how much you spent with each vendor, how much each product sold, and how the two compare, by product, vendor, or department.

Overview video

Item Sell-Through is enabled per store by Vori as part of inventory tracking. If you don’t see it in your Back Office yet, contact Vori Support.

Open the report

  1. Select Reports from the main menu, then Overview.
  2. Select the Inventory tab.
  3. Select Item Sell-Through.

Choose the period and filters

  • Date range: Pick a preset such as Previous Week (Sun-Sat), Previous Month, or Quarter To Date, or choose Custom Date Range to set your own dates.
  • Department: Select one or more departments. Select Only next to a department to show just that one.
  • Vendor: Search for and select one or more vendors. The report then shows the products you ordered or were invoiced from those vendors during the period, along with all of their sales.

Drill from store to product

The table groups results by Store ID, Parent Department, Department, and Vendor. Each product sits under its vendor.
  • Select the arrow next to any row to open the level beneath it.
  • Select Expand all to open every level at once, or Collapse all to close them.
  • Remove a level with the × on its chip in the grouping bar, or drag the chips to change the order.
When you view reports for more than one store, the table starts with one row per store. Every row adds up the products beneath it.

Read the columns

Products counted by the unit fill the Qty columns. Products sold by weight fill the Lb columns.
The dollar columns sit to the right of the quantity columns. Scroll the table sideways to see Invoiced Cost, Sold COGS, and Net Sales.
Received counts what an invoice posted to the inventory ledger, whether or not the invoice is finished.

Answer common questions

How much did we spend on purchasing?

  • Use Invoiced Cost for what your vendors billed you, and PO Cost for what you ordered.

How do sales compare to what we bought?

  • Check Sell-Through % to spot products that are selling slower than you’re buying them.
  • Compare Invoiced Cost with Sold COGS and Net Sales to see the same comparison in dollars.

See the invoices and sales behind a number

  1. Hover over any row and select the table icon at the end of the row (View underlying data).
  2. A panel opens with every purchase order, invoice, sale, and refund line behind that row. Each line shows the date, vendor, document number, quantity, and amount.
  3. Use the search box in the panel to filter the lines. For example, search Invoice to see only invoice lines.
  4. To open an invoice, hover over its number in the Transaction column and select Open. The invoice opens with every line the vendor billed, the product each line maps to, and its cost, retail price, and margin.
  5. Select View Invoice to see the vendor’s original invoice next to those lines.
  6. Select Export to CSV in the panel to download the lines.

Export or schedule the report
