Custom Tag Printing and Design is currently in beta. If you’re interested in joining the beta or learning more about this feature, reach out to our team at support@vori.com.
Custom Tag Printing and Design keeps your shelf tags in step with your Point of Sale (POS). You design tags that look like your store, tell Vori which products use which design, and print every tag that needs updating from one queue in Back Office. You print on the desktop printer and sheet labels you already have.

How the pieces fit together

Setup comes in three parts. You do the first two once, and the third becomes part of your weekly routine.
  1. Design your own tags. Build templates under Tags → Templates with your fonts, logo, and layout. Make one for regular retail tags and one for each kind of deal you run, like a price reduction or Buy X Get Y.
  2. Assign tags to products. Tell Vori which template each product uses. Set it one product at a time, in bulk, or automatically with a Product Rule so new products are covered too.
  3. Review the tag print queue. Print everything waiting under Tags → Print Queue, check the batch before it prints, and confirm what came out of the printer.

How tags reach the queue

Vori adds a tag to the print queue on its own whenever a product’s price, name, or barcode changes. The change can come from Back Office or from a handheld. Price and promotion changes that start in the next few days show up under Upcoming, so you can hang tags before the new price goes live. You can also print tags on demand:
  • From a promotion. Select a promotion and choose Print Tags to queue every product in it.
  • From a product. Use the menu on a product’s details page to reprint one torn or missing tag.

What you need

  • Back Office access for whoever builds templates and prints tags.
  • A desktop printer connected to your computer. Vori creates a print-ready file sized to your label stock, so the printer and driver you already use will work.
  • Sheet label stock. Vori includes common sizes from Avery, Online Labels, and RTI, including 24-up and 32-up sheets.
Templates you build are available at every store under your banner.

Other ways to print tags with Vori

Custom templates apply only to tags printed from Back Office to a desktop printer. Vori’s other tag options use their own formats:
The tag designer is built for tags that pull in product details like name and price. For signs that don’t reference a product, like a holiday banner or a welcome sign, a general design tool like Canva is a better fit.
