As of 11/01/24, VoriPOS store's are using one of two kinds of barcode scanner with the store handheld. To determine which one is in use, review the references below:

  • Linea Pro - shaped like a pistol with a bulky body

    • If so, go to this guide for directions

  • Socket Mobile - flat like a phone case with a button on the bottom of the phone

    • If so, proceed through this guide

If the Socket Mobile barcode scanner for the store handheld is not connecting to the VoriOS app, walk through this set of questions:

Is the Socket Mobile scanner turned on?

  • Press the large scan button located on the back side of the iPhone.

    • If it does not emit a barcode reading laser, the device may not be turned on.

  • Press and hold the small power button to the left of the large scan button to power on the Socket Mobile scanner.

    • If done correctly, the scanner should play two notes from low to high. If the two notes are high to low, the unit was already on and has been powered off.

Is the Socket Mobile scanner charged?

If the scanner does not emit two notes when the small power button is pressed, the unit has no power.

  • Place the handheld on the magnetic charging base. The scanner should emit two quick beeps when in charging mode. If the handheld doesn't enter charging mode, confirm that the charging base is plugged in.

If the magnetic charging base is plugged in and not charging the handheld, the scanner case is likely not make full contact with the charging base. In that case:

  • Find a way to tilt forward the handheld while it's on the charging base to ensure full contact is made.

  • Request RMA (return merchandise authorization process) since the charging base is likely faulty.

If unable to charge the handheld, the VoriOs app has a built-in camera scanner that may be used until a replacement unit arrives. To use the camera scanner in the VoriOS app:

  • Select the Search Product bar on the bottom of the main screen

  • Select the Open Camera button on the product search screen

Is bluetooth turned on for the phone?

Bluetooth must be enabled on the handheld for the scanner to connect.

If answering these three questions doesn't find the source of the issue, proceed to the next section.

Unpair and Re-pair the scanner with the VoriOS app

  • Open and log into the VoriOS app

    • If a store needs a visual indicator, the app icon has a black background with a white V.

  • Under the Devices section of the main screen, look for the Socket Mobile device tile and select it.

    • The user may need to swipe left or right to find the correct device tile.

  • If the Durasled is already paired with the VoriOS app, scroll to the bottom of the device's page and select the Forget Device button.

  • Once the Durasled is forgotten, have the store find the device tile saying Add Socket Mobile and select it.

  • The app will display built-in pairing instructions that should be followed by the user.

If the scanner pairs correctly with the device, emits a barcode scanning laser, but does not transmit information to the VoriOS app, then the device may be defective or there is a bug.

Request RMA on the device as it is likely defective.
