Understanding till settings
Below are explanations of the different till settings that can be adjusted.
Require Till Counting On Close
When this setting is enabled, the cashier will be prompted to enter in a closing till amount at the POS after they choose to close a till.
Example of the cashier till count screen
End of Day Cutoff
This setting establishes a cutoff time for closing tills. If a cashier is operating an open till past the cutoff time, they will be prompted to close the till.
✏️ Note - The cutoff time will not automatically close an open till that is left open.
Starting Amount
This setting automatically establishes a default starting amount for the till when a cashier opens it. Although cashiers will still see a prompt on their screen to enter the starting amount, this configuration pre-fills that prompt, streamlining the process and allowing for easy adjustments if necessary.
Max Cash Back Amount
This settings sets a limit on cash back withdrawals. Cash back amounts above the set threshold will not be visible on the cashier or shopper displays.
Alternatively, manager approval settings can be used to require manager PIN entry over a certain amount.Refer to the Manager Approvals at the POS article.
✏️ Note - Card networks limit maximum cash back to $200.
