How to process an inline refund on the POS

This article explains the process for processing a refund as a line item within a transaction.

What is an Inline Refund?

An inline refund is a refund that is processed directly within a new transaction or purchase flow, without the need to cancel the entire transaction or start a new one.

This may be used if a customer wants to return an item they previously purchased while still making a new purchase for additional items.

Steps

  1. Add item to be refunded to the basket.

  2. Tap ...More.

  3. Select Refund Item.

  4. Item is now updated to a refund item.

  5. Proceed with adding items to the basket and proceed with payment.
