Check Your Password and Keyboard
First, confirm the password is being entered correctly and that your keypad is ready.
-
Slowly and carefully re-enter the admin password.
-
Ensure the Num Lock key on your 10-key keypad or keyboard is on. An indicator light is usually lit when Num Lock is active.
💡 Tip: The Num Lock key is typically located in the top-left corner of a standard 10-key numeric keypad.
Reset the 10-Key Keypad Connection
Sometimes the USB hub that connects your keypad to the POS terminal can get stuck in an error state. Resetting the physical connection will often resolve communication issues.
-
Locate the USB hub that connects your 10-key keypad to the POS terminal.
-
Unplug the USB hub's host cable from the POS terminal.
-
Wait 10 seconds before plugging the USB hub firmly back into the port.
-
Try entering the admin password again.
✏️ Note: This process forces the POS terminal to re-establish communication with the connected keypad, which can clear temporary glitches that garble input.
