In Beta: Exporting Data with Recipes for Custom Promo Tags
Learn how to use the Recipes feature to generate custom data exports for printing promotional tags with your external software. This helps you quickly transfer promotional pricing details from Vori to your tag-making system.
✏️ Note: This article describes features in the New Back Office and is launching with select stores (in beta testing). For instructions on accessing the New Back Office, view our guide: Access the New Back Office.
What is the Promotional Tag Printing Recipe?
The Promotional Tag Printing recipe is a pre-built tool in Vori that allows you to generate a CSV file containing all the necessary data fields for your promotional tags.
This feature is ideal for stores that use external software (like Bartender or RTI signs) to design and print their price tags. Instead of manually inputting data or using a standard import template, you can customize the output to match the exact fields required by your tag-making program.
Step 1: Access the Recipe
-
Log into your Back Office account.
 -
Click Recipes under the Apps section in the left-hand navigation panel.

 -
On the Recipes page, you will see a list of available recipes. Click Open on the Promotion Tag Printing recipe.

Step 2: Customize Your Data Export
The recipe displays a table view of your current, active promotions. You need to adjust this table's columns to ensure the exported data format is compatible with your external tag-making software.
-
Set the Date Range. At the top of the table, check the date range to ensure it covers all the promotions for which you need to print tags. You can adjust the start and end dates as necessary.
 -
Select Your Columns. Click the Show/Hide Columns button (the icon with three vertical lines) located above the data table.

 -
Choose Required Fields. A list of all available data fields will appear. Check or uncheck the boxes to include or remove columns from your export. Make sure to select only the fields needed for your tag-making software.

✏️Note: Current savings (the dollar amount saved) is not a standard export field yet. You can use the exported Regular Price and Promotional Price columns in a spreadsheet (like Google Sheets or Excel) to calculate savings after you export.}}}$$
Step 3: Save Your View and Export the Data
Once your columns are customized, save the format for future use and run your export.
-
Save the Customized View. Click the Save as New View button above the table.
-
Give the view a descriptive name (e.g., "Vori Neighborhood Market Promo Tags").
 -
Click Save.

 -
 -
Export the File. Click the Export button next to the saved view name.
-
The customized data will be downloaded as a CSV file to your computer.

 -
 -
Import into Tag Software. You can now take this CSV file and import it directly into your tag-making program to print your promotional tags.

Scheduling an Automated Export (Optional)
If you consistently print promotional tags on the same day every week, you can schedule the customized export to be sent to you automatically.
-
In your saved view (e.g., "Vori Neighborhood Market Promo Tags"), click the Schedule button.
 -
Set the desired frequency (e.g., weekly) and the recipient's email address.
 -
The file will be automatically generated and sent to you on the schedule you set.
