# How to prepare countertop cutouts for Zebra scanner scale installation

> This article explains the specifications needed to cut countertops for in-counter Zebra scanner scale installations

### Introduction

When installing Zebra’s in-counter scanner scales, ensure that countertop cutouts are precisely measured and routed for a proper and secure fit. The specifications outlined below are based on Zebra’s official installation guidance and should be followed closely to support accurate scale performance and long-term durability.

2. Navigate to section **3 - 17** on page **116** of the guide.
3. Work with a cabinet maker or skilled carpenter to create the cutout using a router. The **Zebra Scanner/Scale Integrator Guide** should be used as the primary reference for dimensions and installation best practices.
