# How to update the scheduled reboot time on a payment terminal
> This article explains how to enable scheduled reboot time on a payment terminal in order to prevent mid-transaction device restarts
Is your payment terminal restarting right in the middle of a customer's checkout? Let's fix that!
⚠️ **Heads up:** These steps are performed directly on the **Payment Terminal** (the small vertical device with the physical number keypad and credit card slot).
### Steps
1. Swipe up from the bottom of the payment terminal touchscreen.
1. A black bar should pop up on the bottom of the screen.
2. Hit back button twice.
3. Enter password `pax9876@@`.
1. This will cause the payment process app to close, taking you to the main screen of the payment terminal.
4. Hit Android settings icon ⚙️.
5. Enter in same password `pax9876@@` and hit the `OK` button.
6. On the Settings screen, tap `System`.
7. Tap `Date & time`.
8. Turn on `Use Network Provided Time`.
9. Change time zone to `Pacific Time` (or wherever this terminal is going).
10. Tap the back arrow on the top left corner of the screen.
11. Tap `Security`.
12. Tap `Scheduled Reboot Time` **should be `2:00`.**
13. Press & hold the red & green buttons on the physical keyboard until the payment terminal restarts.
14. The payment processing application will automatically reopen after the payment terminal turns back on.
