How to update the POS Zebra scanner scale's communications protocol

This article walks through how to update the POS Zebra scanner scale to the newest communication protocol for increased stability.

Steps

Follow the directions below to update the POS lane to the newest protocol:

1. Triple-tap on the date and time section in the footer.

   

2. Tap Reprogram Scanner/Scale.

   1. Be careful not to touch any other settings here.

      

3. Using a smartphone camera, scan the QR code on the screen. This will take you to a website containing two barcodes.

   

4. One by one, scan the barcodes on your phone using the Zebra scanner scale. The scanner will restart after each barcode.

5. After the scanner restarts the second time (which could take 30 seconds), tap Continue and then Confirm. You are all done!

   1. Test that the new communication protocol works by scanning an item and weighing something on the scale.
