How to fix the barcode scanner on the store handheld (Linea Pro version)
This article helps source and resolve different issues that may prevent the Linea Pro barcode scanner from working properly.
✏️ Note - As of 04/01/25, Vori POS store's are using one of two kinds of barcode scanner with the store handheld.
Determine the model of barcode scanner
To determine which one is in use, review the references below:
Linea Pro

If the model above is being used, proceed through this guide.
Socket Mobile

If the model above is being used, click here to access the correct troubleshooting guide.
Is the Linea Pro turned on?
- Pull the trigger of the Linea Pro.
- If it does not emit a barcode reading laser, the device may not be turned on.
- Press and hold the power button on the left side of the unit to power on the Linea Pro.
✏️ Note - If the Linea Pro is turned on but is not working, skip to Is the user attempting to use the Linea Pro with the store handheld or a different phone?
If the Linea Pro does not turn on, proceed to the next section.
Is the Linea Pro charged?
If the blue battery indicator lights on the left side of the unit do not light up when pressing and holding the unit's power button, then plug in the Linea Pro's charging cable to charge the unit first.
💡 Tip - If only one blue light is flashing on the side, the Linea Pro's battery level is critically low and the device needs to be charged.
If the Linea Pro is connected to the charging cable but is not charging, ensure the power source that the charging cable is connected to is providing power.
✏️ Note - If the Linea Pro is connected to a powered charging cable but is not charging, contact Vori support to pursue a device RMA.
If the Linea Pro is charged and turned on but is not working, proceed to the next section.
Is the user attempting to use the Linea Pro with the store handheld or a different phone?
Linea Pro's may only be paired with one device. If attempting use the Linea Pro with a different device, the scanner must first unpair it from the store handheld through the VoriOS device menu.
✏️ Note - If the Linea Pro is being used with the correct store handheld, proceed to the next section.
Is bluetooth turned on for the handheld?
Bluetooth must be enabled on the handheld for the scanner to connect. Follow the directions below to ensure Bluetooth is enabled:
- Swipe down from the handheld's upper right corner to open the Control Center

- Check if Bluetooth is enabled based on the color of the Bluetooth icon
- Blue Icon: Bluetooth is enabled
- White Icon: Bluetooth is disabled
- If the Bluetooth button is white, tap the button to re-enable Bluetooth.
✏️ Note - If bluetooth is enabled but the barcode scanner isn't working, proceed to the next section.
Is the Linea Pro paired with the store handheld?
💡 Tip - If the Linea Pro
device tile is missing in the VoriOS app, update the app by searching for VoriOS in the App Store and selecting Update
.
- Open and log into the VoriOS app
- Under the Devices section of the main screen, look for the
Linea Pro
device tile and select it.
- If the Socket Mobile device is already paired with the VoriOS app, scroll to the bottom of the device's page and select the
Forget Device
button.
- On the main screen of the Vori Os app, tap the
Add Linea Pro
device tile.
- The app will display built-in pairing instructions that should be followed by the user.
💡 Tip - If the Linea Pro pairs correctly with the device, emits a barcode scanning laser, but does not transmit information to the VoriOS app, proceed to the next section.
Request device replacement
If all other measures fail, contact Vori support to request RMA, as the device is likely defective.
